Watching a river gently flow down to the sea reminds me that we are in flow too. Sometimes the flow is fast, sometimes it can even seem like it is at a standstill but no matter what - the flow continues naturally. This piece captures that journey of flow.

Water can be so calm yet so exciting. It can have depth yet the surface holds beauty too. This painting represents the ever changing nature of water; its depths, its shallows. I’ve always been a ‘water baby’, and as well as it being somewhere I feel ‘at home’ in, it continues to mesmerise me.

This piece is inspired by my time as artist in residence at the Bankside Hotel during the Totally Thames Festival, Being so close to the river has really given me a deeper sense of its energy and importance. I have spent a lot of time on the shore underneath Blackfriars Bridge and been mesmerised by the tidal nature of the river. When you are standing on what feels like a coastal beach it is hard to imagine that in just a few hours, the water will rise 7 meters above with such a force. And from that force comes wonderful reflections on the surface, I've tried to capture that energy and interaction between the elements of water and light. This pieces is infused with a drop of water from the Thames as a symbolic act of connection. Pairs well with Under Blackfriars Bridge IV.

Promise is inspired by my love of nature. Its ability to renew, evolve and grow always holds so much promise and is a constant source of awe and wonder to me. And how lovely that the more experienced in life I get, the more nature continues to 'teach' me. Continues to reveal more and more colours, more hidden depths.
Presence celebrates being in the moment no matter what takes us to the state of living in the now. For me, it is being with water or paint. Even better, is my happy place of painting water! I hope I have captured a moment in time in this extra large statement piece. It is important to me that we can feel like we are almost immersed in it.

Like water, we are always in flow. Observing the way water flows and adapts to its environment with such grace reminds me that life is a series of moments that make up its constant flux. Being able 'go with the flow' is a wonderful thing. Not always achievable but always something to aspire to!
This piece represents life cycles, how water has no beginning or end to its flow. There is rain to river, river to sea, sea to cloud, cloud to rain.

When you jump into the sea to start a scuba dive, there is this magical moment of feeling ‘at one’ with the rhythm of the sea, the swell. I’ve tried to capture that energy here so I’ve included a close up of the surface taken from the bottom edge of the canvas so you can see the texture of that ebb and flow.
